About Us

Sleeping Cat
Dog in the Forest

Oh man,
Do we have a
Story for you...

This adventure was embarked on by pure accident, in 2012. Our owner was in her mid 20's and just loved relaxing with her friends dogs. Fast forward to now and she will be the first one to tell you, it was the best accident of her life and has been the best adventure of all time (outside of parenting). She never planned to get a business license & insurance, or even to hire people, but the universe clearly had other plans.
She started with elderly dogs, who didn't handle the transition from home to boarding anymore and dogs who had health concerns with their age. The work of getting into a car and back out again, then settling in at a new place in those situations, is just overwhelming for them. Then she managed to get her hands in the mix with some rescues, who also didn't handle that process so well. While these are short stints in "the pen" as we call it, it's disastrous for dogs that have just come out of similar settings and they typically will have gotten out of terrible situations even before that. For them, to get love and affection and suddenly be dropped off at a facility with an item or two of your own, can be detrimental to their recovery process and more triggering than we as humans often realize. Next she added some special needs fur babes and realized, she really loves handling pets that need to feel safe right where they are or who need special attention when out on walks to keep them out of bad situations. Then she got involved with cats... Let's just say, they are certainly a whole different animal, with completely different issues. You can ask any of us though, totally worth the work.

Many years later, here we are, with so many dogs and cats it's like a fur-palooza around here. We handle big dogs, old dogs, little dogs, scared dogs, abused dogs who need to learn that love is something they do deserve, pampered dogs, dogs with specific diets, dogs with allergies, dogs with medications out the wazoo, dogs with broken hearts that need healing, dogs who need insulin, cats who need insulin, cats with mood swings, cats who want to kill us because that's just what they want right then, cats with specific diets, cats with medications, cats who are terrified of humans in general (yes, we will in fact spend months winning them over) and cats who just want to lay in the sun and be told that they are pretty. To be blunt about it, we love all the animals so much, that we work with anything from the generic household pet up to Goats, Mini Ponies, Ducks, Geese, Chickens and fish ponds too. To hear about the weridest geese ever, ask about Lopez and Sheila, oooo, or the water-dragon that liked to "fall with style"! We even have a couple Hobby-Farms as clients! We love our jobs.

... Really though, ask about Lopez and Sheila some time.

Back to us though... Not a single member of our team is lacking in love for these animals and we are all overly excited to meet new creatures of all sorts. Don't worry though, we can read the room and tone down our excitement if the pet needs us to do so. We care like that.

From all of us here at Jessie's Little Pals,      WE  CAN'T  WAIT  TO  MEET  YOU!!!
